He can get over the Alps

Except the Japanese Heidi hype (there is a Heidi theme park in Tōhoku) there seem to be no connection between Namazu and Switzerland. But if one digs in the ground, there is one. And that is exactely what Heidi did, she literally pulled the tail of the catfish. Nobody can tell if that experiment made the ground instable. Or better, more instable, Namazu visited Basel back in 1356. Now imagine what would happen if the seismic impulse that did hit Nothern Italy a few weeks ago continues. The African plate pushes Italy out of its way, „the Boot“ moves North by North West. If you follow that vector, you stand in front of Weiterlesen

May the frog be with you…

The ability of the real Namazu to sense earthquakes reminds to the performance of the force above. Well, there are Jedi of many species and there are many animals with a 6th sense. What does Yoda remind to? Bingo, certain amphibians are the protagonists of a most strange phenomena back in 2009, a iwannabelieve article here. If it wasn’t mere chance, was it precognition? Prediction is the correct term, the classic oracles did read from nature, too. The effects mentioned in that article fit to a rather new theory. Tectonic activities mean friction of rock on rock already before the actual earthquake. If the rock contains quartz (rather probably, it’s the second most common mineral in the continental crust), the friction can generate a piezoelectric effect like used in lighters. The force is strong with earthquakes and so is the effect, but these disturbances of the force are hard to recognize in the most dynamic magnetic field of the earth. Just imagine you have to indentify the voice of a stranger at a big party. Do frogs know how the electromagnetic voice of earthquakes sound? Weiterlesen

Bunga Bunga!

Namazu is far away from Europe? Think again, today a 5.9 magnitude hit Nothern Italy, an article here.  Well, so far it seems not that worse like the earthquake of L’Aquila in 2009, the Prime Minister won’t make fun of it this time at least. More good news, the rather near nuclear power plant Caorso was shut down in 1990 already, a new referendum three months after 3/11 spoiled the plans of Berlusconi & Friends to re-animate la forza Italia nucleare in 2013. The bad news, L’Aquila is still far from normal, the recovery goes far slower than necessary. Why? The promised 15 billion Euros by the Gouverment and the other funds drain partially in bureaucracy which is infiltrated by the Mafia. La Famiglia rules the construction business, too. If you are a member, you pay a normal price for rebuilding your house. If you aren’t, you pay an inofficial extra charge, only greased palms work. Or better, they botch, the quality is often below poor. That’s why that Graffiti says „Also the light seems to die, in the uncertain shadow of a becoming“.

UPDATE: Of course the referendum of 2011 was not the very last word spoken in the debate about nuclear energy in Italy, the lobby works on getting back in business. A risky business, because protest made in Italy gets more and more violent, just two weeks ago there was an assault on a nuclear manager in Genua.

PS: I forgot to mention that Emilia–Romagna belongs actually to the hood of the Namazu. The river Po – which is the nothern border of the region – is full of really, really, really giant catfish. I wonder if they went nervous today, the monsters sized species has that 6th sense for earthquakes, too…

Got cream for my tea?

Mama Monster strikes again, one of her tecups got sold for $ 14.600 for Japan, the whole story here. No, wait, there’s still some vital information missing, the better half is here. Now tell me: How much is it to ship a rubber bracelet including the envelope? Even without postage flatrate and quantity discount not more than $ 1.50 or $ 2 in the USA, I guess. You now it from eBay, small item, big shipping, bad romance. And even she did actally ship it deluxe, the postal services made profit from that and she had priceless promotion for the money of other people. Different day, same shit, the item she did donate now has an real value of… let’s say, $ 40. And what are the odds, her Asia tour starts next week. The benefit is bullshit, too. Why support guest students from Japan if there is still so much suffering in Japan? Many refugees still life in camps, many more have lost everything. Remember: A house in „the zone“ is not even worth a single Yen anymore. For the owner, mortgages are still valid, no insurance pays for that. The residents on Minamisoma are allowed to come back now, but in a ghost town. Short: This kind of charity sucks, rather make yourself a Namazu-e-shirt and donate $ 5 to Bansho Miura’s HEART CARE RESCUE. Well, I had to trick Google to translate the contact info, but maybe it’s just facebook acting strange with Fukushima info: Weiterlesen
