IMPORTANT UPDATE: I’m not Lady Gaga! I just CALL for donations which you CAN give to an organisation you trust. And I will not promote any third-party relief funds of stars here. Bono, pay your bloody taxes!
The basic idea was to give something back for the optional donations for the people of Fukushima. Not a receipt, something with you can show your solidarity. Because it’s not how much, but that you donate. Best in show is still a t-shirt, so I did a mashup of Namazu (the Japanese demon of earthquakes, see the video above, nearly the same myth exists in Southern Germany) and Hi no maru (the flag of Japan). Here is the result, „Hello Catfish“:
It’s viral charity, you can download (file here, here or here) the print design in exchange for a little, optional donation (for example, to the Red Cross or the WSPA), you can use Namazu for your personal benefit performance, too. This blog is the attempt to establish Namazu as a global mascot (in Japan he already is in many variations). So if you made yourself a shirt (you can buy it here, too, a donation is included. UPDATE: This shop doesn’t exist any longer, not even online, the link is dead.) or you have any idea to use him for a benefit performance or awareness or you’ve made an artwork, please give me feedback. With a photo or video (the last one via link only, please), if possible (examples see the blog). But read da rulez first:
Namazu is creative common license and for benefit/awareness only. Skip the credit, but you must not add any names and logos. If you have or are a sponsor, please keep things seperated and benefit/awareness in first place. If you add a slogan, please in context with Japan/earthquake benefit/awareness only.
